Industrial machine tool builders have used granite and marble bases for precision equipment for decades. Marble's natural vibration absorption is 10× higher than steel — movement from the recoating blade, elevator drive, and galvo scanner doesn't cross-couple into positioning errors. The recoater frame flatness — the surface that defines every single layer's starting plane — is controlled to 0.006 mm across the full field. That engineering baseline makes ±0.15% accuracy possible at 2,700 mm scale. At 3,750 kg total machine weight, the 2700 Pro doesn't walk, flex, or resonate during a 60-hour print job.
The Z-axis uses a closed-loop ball screw drive with 0.0005 mm vertical resolution and ±0.01 mm repeat positioning accuracy. Every layer starts from a position the drive system returns to within 10 microns. For 0.1 mm layers across 800 mm of build height — 8,000 layers — that positioning consistency is what prevents Z-compression and layer drift from accumulating in tall parts. The galvo scanner is Scanlab (Germany): closed-loop, temperature-compensated, calibrated to Kings 3D control software parameter packages for the full resin library.
A full-size automotive front bumper is typically 1,600–1,900 mm wide. The 2700 Pro prints it in a single run, with no glue-up, no seam-matching, and no tolerance stack-up between sections. Grilles, spoilers, mirror housings, dashboard assemblies — all print complete at 1:1 scale. Kings 3D has developed optimized parameter packages for automotive SLA parts using KS408A ABS-like resin. What previously required 3–4 separate prints and manual assembly now comes off the plate ready for inspection.
The 0.08 mm minimum beam spot preserves fine features — grille apertures, mesh patterns, surface texture, and thin-wall ribs — that FDM cannot reproduce at this scale. Variable beam selection handles the geometry automatically: fine detail features at minimum spot, large solid sections at maximum spot for speed. The result is a grille that looks like a production part off the plate, not like a rough prototype requiring hours of post-processing to be presentable.
At 800 mm Z-height, the 2700 Pro prints full human-torso sculptures in a single piece. Art foundries, museum reproduction studios, and public installation artists use the 2700 Pro for work that requires the surface quality and dimensional accuracy that SLA delivers at large scale. No section lines, no joint gaps — the same part quality from bottom layer to top.
Interior components — center console assemblies, door panels, instrument clusters — need to fit together correctly before tooling is cut. The 2700 Pro's accuracy at scale means fit-check models work the first time. Automotive OEM programs use Kings SLA parts for interior packaging reviews, ergonomic evaluations, and design sign-off presentations. The KS408A resin surface finishes well — painted, primed, or left as-is for engineering review.
